Squares of Love has been part of Cross & Crown for many years providing quilts to comfort those in need.
Each of the four corners represent the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, and
a simple cross plus eight squares represents the Beatitudes. There is even more symbolism in each quilt, as the 7 squares across represent the seven ancient churches of Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea. The ten squares down represent the Ten Commandments and the twelve squares in the cross represent the apostles.
The finished quilts are then blessed, awaiting their new homes. Members of the congregation are encouraged to choose a quilt to give to friends or family who need comfort during any difficult situation.
Volunteers are always welcome and much needed. No skill is required. Everyone can tie a knot!
